Mar 2017: There's something about Northumberland.
There’s no doubt I’m drawn to the coast, for that’s where I spent my formative years. Northumberland’s coast offers so much photographic potential, including rocky beaches, big skies, a Holy Island and the occasional castle.
On what must have been my fourth or fifth visit, there was more sunshine than I can recall here. And despite the overnight rain, on this particular morning there was a sunrise among spectacular clouds. There were, of course, also the other photographers. They get everywhere! Fortunately, when the tide is out, Bamburgh’s beach offers plenty of space with views of the imposing - and inhabited - castle. You just need to be careful of your footing on the slippery rocks.
